The Centre

Mediterráneo Spanish Centre, located next to the university campus, has access to all services including air conditioning in the whole center, Internet room (Free for our students),library,public transportation, and sports/recreational facilities. Close to the school have Swimming pool during June to September. Price 2 € (Each day). Service of dining room next to the school (Two plates, dessert and drink) : 4,50 € Each 9 meals one is free. The Centre also includes a break room which is available for students use between lessons. The break room offers complementary refreshments such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The beach is near the centre while the historical city center is no more than 15 minutes away from the school. The location of the centre makes Valencia easy for you to enjoy, discover, and explore. Of course, we will help you in exploring Valencia and the rest of Spain through our excursions and extracurricular activities. After all, we firmly believe that to learn a language, you need not only theory but also the chance to apply the lessons learned in real life situations. Our main goal is to make you feel welcomed and relaxed as well as encourage you to begin using the Spanish language soon after your arrival.

Our teachers

Our team is made of young, native Spanish teachers, all of whom hold university degrees. They are professionals who above all enjoy teaching the Spanish language to international persons.

At Mediterráneo Centre , the student-teacher relationship is one of friendship. This means teachers participate in excursions and extracurricular activities. As a result, new students become integrated in the life of the school and the city quickly because the teacher is always available to help.

Teaching Style

The objective of our program is the immediate application of the newly acquired knowledge. We prepare our students so that in all areas of language skills (grammar, pronunciation, comprehension, and conversation) they can handle daily situations without difficulties. All teaching materials and some extracurricular activities are included in the course fee.

At Mediterráneo Spansih Centre, we use an interactive method of teaching based on learning by practice. That means that grammar is covered –after all, one of the key building blocks of any language- as much as possible by using practical situations. Speaking and actively using the language is central to the continuous interaction between teacher and student. Mediterráneo Spansih Centre has refined the communicative teaching method and by constantly evaluating and applying students suggestions.

Study Material and Home Work

Throughout the course you will receive all the study materials you need. Our materials have a support function. A large part of the study material is presented in the form of practical activities and exercises through which you will learn to understand and speak Spanish almost without noticing. The largest part of this material is worked on in class. In addition to this, each day you have to devote the necessary time, outside of class, to do the homework assigned by your teachers.

Timetable

On the first Monday you are expected at school at nine o’clock in the morning. As a beginner you start the lessons immediately. You will notice that by the end of Day One you will already be able to speak a little Spanish. If you already have some knowledge of the Spanish language you will take a level test first so that you can be classified at the right learning level. The lessons then start immediately afterwards.

Each day you have a minimum of four lessons with a half-hour break. Each class lasts for 50 minutes. Classes are programmed between 9.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. The classes schedule can be either in the morning or the afternoon. This depends upon various circumstances (current number of groups, the level of the students, etc.) and will be determined on your first course day.

Certificates and Diplomas

When you have finished the course, you will receive a certificate of participation from Mediterráneo Spanish Centre noting that you have taken part in at least 90% of the lessons.

The following will be recorded on the certificate:

• the course you have attended.
• the length of the course.
• subjects you have taken.
• the goals and level of Spanish where you have been classified
• the number of hours you spent in class.

If you take the internal Mediterráneo Spanish Centre examination atthe end of the course then the level you have reached will be shown in the form of a grade. Mediterráneo Spanish Centre also provides preparatory courses for the DELE Examination (Inicial, Intermedio and Superior).
